SUPER - LONG PERSONAL POST ABOUT ME

For the last decade I have been struggling with my weight.
I have been at many highs and many lows.

Hmm. Getting fitter, more toned, and changing my perspectives on weight loss through self-growth and this wonderfully supportive fitblr/WL community.
Follow me as I try to finally get lean, fit and MAINTAIN IT FOREVER :)

PS: I don't starve, I don't restrict my diet to only healthful foods, and I fight the urge to exercise obsessively (yoga = only exception). It's no way (for me) to live, and from my past experiences, this is not how you set yourself up to maintain.

(Last year around this time I was 112 lb.. a weight I had maintained for about a year and was truly happy at)

I would like to look good and fit comfortably into my clothes while also being a lean badass. OVERALL GOAL: REDUCE BODY FAT PERCENTAGE.

^^;; I think I&#8217;ll make one of these every month or so. As embarrassing as it is, I really think taking pictures helps you see your progress. Even if you have the occasional your-friend-is-looking-at-pics-through-your-phone-and-sees-your-progress-pics moment ^^

Weigh-In 6.3.11

Cleverly avoided weighing myself last week (beginnings of shark week) and this past Wednesday (out of town). But of course, I woke up, had coffee, did my morning yoga, ate breakfast and pulled my scale out of its hiding place (I physically put it really out of my way so I don’t obsessively weigh myself), stepped on, and looked down.

118.6 lb. Down .8 lb from two weeks ago :) Despite the small number I am really pleased. I debloated from shark week + traveling and took new progress pictures. Definitely a difference in body fat!!!!

I am super pleased at the way my upper body is coming along (I really think this is all yoga). The lower body is going to take more work and effort… thank goodness for the 5k challenge!!

Weigh-In Wednesday

It’s WIW, but unfortunately, I have no numbers for you. It’s shark week and I REFUSE to weigh myself. I feel the extra bloat on my face, stomach and legs.. I don’t need a scale to confirm this. Whatever higher number I get is just going to disappear when I deflate in a few days so I see no point in even knowing because my scale-fixation tendency will just kick in and make me feel shitty for no reason. So I’m just going to post my body progress, bloat and all.

It’s only day 3 of my new yoga obsession so I don’t know if you can see any differences. There’s some obvious jiggle still going on in my lower belly region. But although it isn’t noticeable from these pics, I feel new muscles tightening in my core region. I’ve always found that the three big lines going down the center of my torso are fairly easy to attain just by walking/running, but that’s usually as far as my stomach definition goes. Today I noticed little slanted lines appearing at the edges of my muscles… *gasp* can I perhaps finally have actual, defined abs? It’s too early to tell but I’m hoping yoga will give me a versatile, STRONG core… not one that is just defined but one that is athletically efficient and capable of holding my posture in the correct position at all times. I’ll be the first to admit that I want a toned, leaner body for aesthetics but I want my muscle to be functional- not just created for looks but one supports my love for beach volleyball, street basketball, swimming, everything. 

Next week I will post my weigh in numbers + my body after about 10 days of yoga. I’m pretty pumped. I can’t wait to debloat. Glad yoga has finally struck a chord in me because my stability ball toning exercises are already mundane and the variety yoga offers is pretty priceless. Especially since my only investment cost so far has been my mat (I love you, Youtube).

I never posted a “before” side pic (when I began this blog less than a month ago), so here is one

Start: 165 140 123 lb

I got a few wonderful compliments from people on my last post pertaining to my abs. I think the pictures are fairly misleading. I’m trying to cut down on my overall body fat (which as an Asian, is genetically much higher than a non-asian). And currently the fat is just shaping to what little ab muscle/definition I have (not much, I just started toning). So while the top of my torso is relatively lean, the bottom’s definition can all be categorized as “ab-shaped-fat,”

(Another plus up date: cellulite is slowly diminishing from my thighs/butt)

Time to relax Time to start preparing myself for what will probably be an even slower change in body tone/weight loss. I am giddy about this stupid number (it’s just a number!) but scared- I’ll elaborate more on why in a bit. But YAY! Going to buy a McChicken now.
